According a poll made in Spain the chances for Svetlana to win were very slim but the English poll guessed right. How was it possible? The implosion of the Sovietic Union is the most important fact of the last decades, a real landmark. Svetlana wrote about this as a reporter and writer. In fact, Svetlana said to the journalists as follows only I have written four novels, afterwards after that written about same topics.
Svetlana represents the Slavic spirit but she defends modernity and democracy. Another happening that had struck her was the Chernobyl disaster. Gorbachov permited that the media could tell the truth about what happened.
Svetlana was the daughter of a Russian serviceman militar and had a good impression of the Soviet Union. The Chernobyl disaster showed her the dark sideof the communist sistem. She was in a privilegiad position and could write the end of the system and about the independence of the new republics and then about the new war in the east of Ucrania, but she was not very interested in this war. That is a pity.
She is a shy, tidy and humble person. The Swedish Academy appreciates her extra literary qualities, for example that her being a woman has helped her to be awarded the prize. Apart from that, the fact that she lives near a country that is at war for to be Western, They have had some reason for that.
I am happy that the Swedish Academy has awarded an author of Slavic mentality the prize. I admire Dostoiesky and Solzenistyn, althuogh I would not like to live in such conclutions. It is a mentality with loads of sufferings,an extrem and obedient mentality. For example, there is not any respect for the public opinion when it is against the war.
It is curious You only watch Svetlana on T.V.,you notice that she is an inexpresive woman who has suffered very much. I like that the books awarded speak about the political repression and impotence. But I would like them to be well written and with a quiet and good sense of humour.
.A GREAT TRUE-LIFE STORY
I have chosen to write about the Nobel Prize in Literature of this year.
Her name being Svetlana Aleixevich. I am going on to make both a physical and psychological
description of this writer, according to her physical features, which mirror
her personality and character very clearly.
What is she like to look at? She is a bit
old woman of 67, a self-made one, in the greyish world of Communism and male chauvinism.
However, she does not look withered through having suffered a lot because of the
injustice there being in his country. In spite of her age, she is in the pink. Her
hair is straight and falls over her shoulders. Her eyes are bright clear. Her
hair is the colour of treacle and her posture being straight and very relaxed.
She looks like a reflective woman, good-hearted and who seems a kind and sincere
person, who has a story to tell the audience.
Her face is a typically Slavic one, which
looks, so to speak, somewhat expressive, but shows less their emotions than a Latin
face would show. She is as it were, a humble and realistic woman, who loathes
to show off or to stand out. She is a self-possessed woman. She is a
medium-height one and broad-shouldered. She walks slowly and speaks neither in
a low voice or aloud and her way of speaking is of a medium tone, dispassionate
and monotonous.
She has now the Russian reporters at her
feet, for she has succeeded in getting a very unattainable prize. She has a
good knowledge of the everyday life of her fellow countrymen, which she knows
how to put into words, as far as writing a good book is concerned.
One notices at first right when reading her novels, that Svetlana has
been a reporter who dominates the art of making a story interesting. There is a
saying that goes that “The word is mightier than the sword”. And this can be
applied to Svetlana.
When she knew that she had been awarded the prize, the tone of her
answer was not sparing in words . She does not put on airs and graces either
about all that. She retorted "All the topics I usually deal with are
present in my first four novels. After that I have not varied them in my other novels
for I tend to repeat them”.
When Svetlana smiles, all her face lights
up, and she looks very child-like. She demands that the former republics of the
Soviet Union, should be the same as that of the Western countries. Those
who know Svetlana highlight her methodical and reserved character. Nevertheless,
she is a charming person.
Some
20 years ago, she would wake up at 5.30 a.m. and would have a cold shower. She
normally breakfasted on her own, and then went to the high-school to give
lessons. To conclude, it was very clear that she was happy at that time, very
cheerful as a matter of fact. Accordingly, we should say this a great true-life
story.
